As the IDE prepares for the forthcoming Season 2 of their Webby-nominated podcast, IDE Impolite Conversation, Dr. Lezli, Chief Curator of The IDE revisits Season 1 with members of the culinary community who will share their thoughts on select episodes. Oakland-based Chef Nite Yun, owner of the Nyum Bai. In 2019 Yun was named one of Food & Wine Best New Chefs and was included in Time Magazine's 100 Next List. She will join Dr. Lezli and share her thoughts on Episode #21: What Is Historical Nostalgia and Episode #25: French Imperialism Meet Cutes. Chef Yun, a Cambodian-American Chef, will share how these two episodes, which explore romanticizing colonialism and why historical nostalgia is such a powerful tool, resonated with her.
