MY STORY
My first food love is Pakistani cuisine. Cooking real, authentic curries from scratch is in my blood and has been since I was a young girl. Mum taught me everything I know, in fact the recipes in my book, Salan Roti, are mostly hers… (thanks mum).
I grew up in Bradford, West Yorkshire (UK) known as the curry capital in Great Britain. Growing up with colourful tastes, has made me experiment with all different combinations of spices and flavours and like most British born Pakistanis of my generation, I have developed this huge cross over between different food cultures. There’s definitely an East meets West thing going on in my house, in fact it’s more of an East meets West meets North meets South (and every combination in between!).
