The best apples to use for this recipe are a firm apple such as Braeburn, Granny Smith, Fuji, Pink Lady, Gala or Honey Crisp. Use these warm on top of pancakes or waffles, spooned over a bowl of ice cream, or to add a hint of sweetness in savory dishes, like chicken or pork.
