Luna, a Mexican native, oversaw two highly praised Mexican restaurants in San Francisco: Mamacita and Padrecito. She achieved two three-star reviews from the San Francisco Chronicle, and The Michelin Guide awarded Mamacita with six consecutive Bib Gourmand awards. After having visited Portland for years she made the move to the Pacific Northwest in 2016.

Luna has fought most of her life affirming and embracing her true identity. She finally embarked in starting hormone replacement therapy in summer 2020 after a long battle with gender dysphoria. Luna operates the roving pop-up, Chelo (Named after her grandmother), and introduced a new line of sauces into select Portland & Seattle markets. Her approach and love for seasonality remains the same, vegetable focused-local Mexican cuisine. Luna continues to blossom in her journey as a transgender woman after finding peace within herself.
