Bechamel Sauce

Ingredients

2 tbsps Unsalted Butter

2 tbsps All Purpose Flour

3 cups Whole Milk

1 tbsps Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt

1 tsps Black Pepper

1 pinch Nutmeg

Preparation

In a deep pot over medium heat melt the butter.

Once melted, slowly add in flour, stirring continuously until roux comes together, about 3 minutes. It will smell slightly nutty.

Gradually ladle in milk stirring continuously. Sauce will thicken over time but it’s important to scrape the bottom of the pot and whisk often.

Once thickened enough to coat the back of your spoon, season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg to taste.
