Raw Vegan Marinara Sauce

Raw vegan marinara sauce is a delicious and healthy tomato-based sauce that is easy to make and can be used as a topping for a variety of dishes.

Ingredients

1 1/2 roma tomatoes

1 1/2 sun-dried tomatoes, soaked

4 pitted dates, soaked and drained

1/2 cup fresh basil

2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 shallot, chopped

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh oregano

1 teaspoon dried onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black peppercorns



Preparation

Soak the sun-dried tomatoes and pitted dates in water for 20-30 minutes to soften them.

Once soaked, combine the soaked sun-dried tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, soaked and drained pitted dates, fresh basil, fresh-squeezed lemon juice, extra-virgin olive oil, chopped shallot, chopped garlic, fresh oregano, dried onion powder, Italian seasoning, sea salt, and fresh ground black peppercorns in a blender or food processor.

Blend all the ingredients until they are well combined and a smooth sauce forms.

Serve the raw vegan marinara sauce immediately as a dip or use it as a topping for zucchini noodles or any other raw or cooked dish.

Note: The recipe can be easily customized by adjusting the seasonings to your liking. Additionally, the sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.
