Preheat oven to 425°

Melt 2 tbs salted butter, spread evenly over bottom and sides of 8-inch cast iron pan.

Mix dry ingredients.

Grate cold salted butter into dry ingredients.

Mix butter and dry ingredients with a fork until well distributed.

Pour buttermilk and heavy cream into dry ingredients, mix until a sticky lumpy dough has formed.

Let dough sit for 5 minutes at room temperature.

Using a spoon, scoop desired amount of biscuit dough into a bowl of flour, dust dough and form into a ball.

Place biscuit into the cast iron pan will all biscuits touching.

Gently press biscuit cutter or juice glass into dough to make biscuit outline for cutting later. This is optional.

Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.

Immediately after biscuits are done melt 4 tbs of butter to brush over the biscuits.
