Sugared Cranberries
Sugared cranberries are a festive and delicious way to elevate your seasonal desserts or cocktails!
Ingredients
1 cups Cranberries, washed and dried
1/2 cups Water
1 1⁄2 cups Granulated sugar
Preparation
Total time: 30 minutes plus drying time of about 2hrs
In a small saucepan over medium high heat, add water and 1/2c of sugar.
Cook mixture until sugar is dissolved. Cool for 10 minutes.
Place 1/4c of sugar on a tray or plate.
Working in batches add cranberries to simple syrup. Remove with slotted spoon shaking off any excess. Add to sugar. Toss to coat and place on rimmed baking sheet or plate to set. Repeat adding new sugar as necessary if the mixture becomes clumpy.
Allow cranberries to set for about 2hrs before using. Use cranberries to garnish holiday desserts or cocktails!
Save leftover simple syrup for holiday cocktails and mocktails!
