Mrs. Fields Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
My Mom made these cookies all the time growing up and they quickly became a family favorite. While this isn’t THE exact Mrs. Fields cookie recipe the origin story is pretty funny. Watch the attached stream for more!
Ingredients
2 cups Flour
2 1⁄2 cups Rolled oats, Not instant or quick oats
1 tsps Baking soda
1 tsps Baking powder
1 cups Salted butter
1 cups Granulated sugar
1 cups Light brown sugar, packed
2 large Eggs
1 tbsps Vanilla extract
4 1⁄2 ounce Hershey milk chocolate bar
12 ounce Semi-sweet chocolate chips, 12oz bag
1/2 cups Walnuts or pecans, Optional
1/4 tsps Fine sea salt
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a food processor, pulse oats until fine.
3. In a large bowl stir together flour, fine oats, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
4. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar until mixed together.
5. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix on low until just combined.
6. Add in flour/oat mixture and mix on low until it starts to come together. Remove the bowl from the mixer. Add chopped chocolate and chocolate chips. Stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture begins to come together.
7. Drop by 1 ½ “ balls onto a prepared baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cookies will be soft but will firm up after cooling.
