These brats get slowly simmered in beer, onions, and butter then seared on the grill for the most deliciously juicy brat stuffed into a bun.

    Ingredients

    1 pkg of brats

2 cans of beer (one for the chef 😉, one for the recipe)

    2 TBS salted butter

    1/2 yellow onion, sliced

    hot dog buns for serving

    pepper relish

    mustard

    Preparation

    1. 1. Preheat the grill to 350 degrees. Using a grill-safe saucepan, pour the beer into the saucepan with the onions and butter. Allow the mixture to come to a low boil. Add the beer brats to the beer bath. Simmer for 10 minutes flipping halfway through.

  • 2. Remove the brats from the saucepan and onto a sheet pan or plate. Crank the grill up to 400 degrees. Allow the onion and beer mixture to reduce in the saucepan. These beer butter-soaked onions are delicious on the brat!

  • 3. When you are ready to sear off the brats, place on direct heat and grill for 2 minutes per side.

    1. 4. Serve with pepper relish, butter beer-soaked onions, and a slathering of mustard.
