The Best Grilled Cheese
Gooey, cheesy, crunchy, delicious and done in minutes.
Ingredients
2 slices sourdough bread
1oz gruyere cheese
1oz fontina cheese
2oz white cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Optional
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
ketchup (don’t @me)
Preparation
Shred cheeses using a box grater.
Spread mayonnaise in a thin layer on the outside of each slice of bread
Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the inside (optional).
Pile shredded cheese in the middle.
Carefully place sandwich in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat with another pan, plate, or sandwich press on top. Grill until bread is golden and cheese is beginning to melt.
Flip and continue to grill on other side until cheese is completely melted and bread is golden.
Remove to a cutting board and slice in half, on a diagonal, duh.
I like to enjoy mine dipped in ketchup, but to each her own.
