BUTTERY VEGAN CARAMEL SAUCE
This Vegan Caramel Sauce is made with just amazing if I do say so myself. Homemade caramel sauce goes perfectly with ice cream, cheesecakes, apple crisp, coffee drinks and more. Once you start making it, it tends to become a household staple because it can be incorporated into so many things!
3/4 c brown sugar
1 c full-fat coconut milk works best
8 tbsp dairy-free butter
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1. Simply mix all the ingredients together, except the vanilla extract, in a saucepan on a medium boil.
2. Once the mixture has thickened and is bubbling slightly, after approximately 10 minutes, remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
3. Use the sauce straight away or keep refrigerated for up to a week. The sauce will "set" when it's cooled so you will probably need to reheat it for it to regain a pourable consistency.
