LEMON GARLIC BUTTER ASPARAGUS

Ingredients

1 pound asparagus, rinsed, dried, and trimmed

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp shallots, minced

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Shaved or shredded parmesan cheese (optional)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Preparation

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, stirring occasionally.

Add the asparagus to the skillet and season with kosher salt and black pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the asparagus is tender-crisp and lightly charred in spots.

If using, sprinkle shaved or shredded parmesan cheese over the asparagus and let it melt for 1-2 minutes.

Squeeze lemon wedges over the asparagus and garnish with chopped chives. Serve hot.
