Classic Gin Martini
Hop behind the bar with me to go over some bartending basics, including how to make a classic gin martini.
Ingredients
Big ice cubes
½ ounce Martini & Rossi Dry Vermouth (feel free to use more or less depending on your preference)
2 ½ ounces gin of your choice (I like Hendrick’s)
Olives, for garnish
Lemon twist, for garnish
Preparation
Be sure to watch our Bartender Tips and Tricks tutorial for variations!
1. Chill your glass: Add ice and water to a coupe or martini glass, then set it aside.
2. Meanwhile, fill a mixing glass with big ice cubes. Add the vermouth, then the gin.
3. Place a long spoon into the mixing and stir vigorously for 2–3 minutes (don’t shake!).
4. Dump the ice and water out of your chilled coupe or martini glass. Strain the gin and vermouth mixture into the prepared martini glass, discarding the ice. Garnish with olives and/or a lemon twist and enjoy.
